Lots in summer. Mundomar, with its sea lion, dolphin and parrot shows, is the one parents mention most, from £18 (checked Oct 2026). Travellers also like the free playgrounds at Dove Park and L'Aigüera Park, crazy golf and a small evening funfair one street back from Levante beach. Some parents found evenings harder with toddlers and leaned on hotel discos and kids' shows.

Mild and quiet. January averages 15.9°C by day and 8.8°C at night, and December 17.0°C by day. Travellers disagree on nightlife: some say about half the bars close, others say plenty of cabaret bars stay open. The markets keep going, and good days out include the tram to Alicante and the bus to Albir and Altea.

Plenty. Travellers point first to the Old Town and Tapas Alley, the walk up to the Cross for the view, and the dinner show at Benidorm Palace, listed from £34 (checked Oct 2026). For a day out, the theme parks, Guadalest and the bus to Altea come up most. If you would rather not drink all day, people suggest a Segway tour, the downhill bike ride, crazy golf or ten-pin bowling.

Less than in summer. The water parks are shut, and travellers found some kids' venues and hotel clubs closed in November and February. Days that still work include the seafront road train, bowling and the cinema at La Marina shopping centre, and Terra Natura on the days it opens. Book a hotel with a heated indoor pool if swimming matters.

Aqualandia is the pick for teens, with bigger slides than Aqua Natura, from £34.63 (checked Oct 2026). Terra Mítica, go-karting, the downhill bike ride and the jeep safari also get good reports. Teenagers can go into bars with you in Spain, though they cannot drink. Out of season the parks cut their days or close, so check dates first.

Benidorm Palace has side access and is easy inside, travellers say. Low-floor buses carry a wheelchair sign and have a ramp. The seafront from Albir to Altea and the long promenade in Calpe are flat. Of the parks, travellers found Mundomar steep and hard work, Terra Natura mostly flat and Terra Mítica easier but still hilly.

Benidorm Palace is the usual answer: a dinner and cabaret show, listed from £34 (checked Oct 2026). For the day, travellers rate Safari Aitana, the jeep safari and the downhill bike ride, and some take a trip to Valencia. For an evening that is lively without being clubby, people suggest the cabaret and tribute bars.

Altea and Albir on line 10, about every 20 minutes, are the favourites. Villajoyosa, known for its chocolate factory, is on line 54 every 30 minutes. The tram reaches Alicante in about 80 minutes for €2.90, and tram line 9 gets to Calpe in 36 minutes. A bus ride costs €2.00 (all checked Oct 2026).

Head indoors to the show bars, which run karaoke and live music in the afternoon. Travellers also suggest ten-pin bowling and La Marina shopping centre, which has a cinema and a bowling alley. Bus line 2 runs there from Levante and Poniente about every 20 minutes (checked Oct 2026). January averages about 4 days with 1 mm of rain or more.

Travellers say the big outdoor market runs on Sundays and keeps going in January, with a smaller one midweek on Wednesdays. The Sunday market is on the Levante side and gets very busy. The El Cisne market on the road to Albir is a Sunday favourite, on the line 10 bus route.

Benidorm Old Town gets 4.5 from 11,346 TripAdvisor reviews and Museo del Motor 4.9; the theme parks score lower, with queues and tired rides the main gripes.
Near-perfect scores, 4.9 from 168. A good pick for a hot or rainy day.
Dinner and show cost €82 each. Reviewers were surprised how good the food was.
The animals look well cared for, but the dolphin show could be livelier.
About €100 each for roughly 35 minutes in the pool, up €25 in two years. Some still felt it was worth it.
The walk up is tough and the top felt underwhelming to some. A taxi up, about £10, is the easy option.
Queues rarely pass 10 minutes, even for the big rides. The flip side: it feels tired, with no new rides and some closed.
One family's children queued over three hours for the Cyclone slide and felt it was not worth it.
Free entry, with a film, factory tour and tastings. One reviewer rated it above Cadbury World.
The path is well kept, easy to follow and safe, with big coastal views.
Magic, card tricks and stunt cycling for all ages, and very funny.
