Dear Brenda · Nights out

Are there any proper nightclubs in Benidorm?

Dear Brenda

We're a mixed group going in October: the parents want a cabaret and the teenagers and twenty-somethings want house music and a proper club. We keep reading about big clubs on the 'top road', but the information online all looks years old. Are they still going? How do we get there? And is there anywhere to dance nearer the bars, so we can all start the night together?

Yes, split the night: start together at a cabaret in the Rincón de Loix show bars, then the young ones can carry on to the big clubs on the top road, Avenida de la Comunitat Valenciana. They're still going but fewer than they were: a 2024 visitor counted two left, KU and Penélope, so check each one's own pages for that night. Get there by taxi, not on foot or by bus: it's a short ride up from Levante or Rincón, local buses stop around 22:30, and the night taxi tariff starts at €4.25. Nearer the bars, several show bars turn into a disco after the last act, Café Benidorm being the one visitors name, so the parents can have their cabaret and everyone can dance afterwards.

Who the regulars recommend

  • Café Benidorm, Rincón de LoixThe show bar visitors name for cabaret first, then a disco; on the listings in October 2026.
  • Talk of the Town Cabaret, Rincón de LoixA big cabaret bar with free entry, confirmed by a 2025 visitor; good for the parents.
  • Benidorm PalaceThe big dinner show for a special night: TRIVIUM, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, from €40.
  • KU, on the top roadOne of the two big discos a 2024 visitor understood were still going; check it's open the night you go.
  • Penélope, on the top roadThe other remaining top-road disco in 2024, still listing events online in 2026; check its pages for the night.
  • The Beachcomber, the SquareNamed in 2024 as the closest thing to a club near the bars; check it's still open.

Watch out for

  • Don't walk back from the top road in the small hours; take a taxi.
  • Check the door age policy before you go, and make sure the teenagers carry ID.
  • Reviews of the seafront KU are often mistaken for the top-road disco. Check which one you're reading about.
  • Buy your own drinks and keep them in sight; measures are bigger than at home.
  • Stay clear of anyone selling on the street outside the late venues.
What we've learned

Are the top-road clubs still going?

Some are. The big discos have always been on the main avenue above town that regulars call the 'top road', Avenida de la Comunitat Valenciana. In 2024 a visitor understood only two were left, KU and Penélope. Be careful reading reviews: there's also a seafront venue called KU, and older reviews mix the two up. Most of what's online is old, and a 2024 regular said it's rare to hear the top-road clubs mentioned now, so check each club's social pages for opening nights, music and age rules before you go.

How do we get there and back?

By taxi. It's a short ride up from Levante or Rincón de Loix, but a long walk back down at 4am. Local buses mostly finish around 22:30. The night tariff (from 21:00, and all weekend) starts at €4.25 plus €1.16 a kilometre, with a €5.50 minimum, and many taxis now take five. Agree a meeting point and who's sharing which taxi before the group splits.

Is there somewhere to dance nearer the bars?

Yes. Some of the bigger show bars in Rincón de Loix and on Calle Gerona switch to a disco once the late act finishes. Café Benidorm is the example visitors give: a cabaret first, then a disco, and it had a show on 15 October 2026. A 2024 visitor said the closest thing to a club in the Square is the Beachcomber. On that Thursday our What's on page listed 202 acts in 57 bars and venues, so there's no shortage of places between acts.

Where will the parents get a good cabaret?

In the show bars, where entry is free and you pay through your drinks: a 2025 visitor confirmed no charge at the big cabaret bars such as Talk of the Town. For a full production, Benidorm Palace's TRIVIUM runs on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 22:00, from €40 for the show alone. Be warned that most comedians are risqué, and don't sit at the front unless you want to be part of the act.

Is October a good month for it?

Yes. October is still busy: hotels averaged about €106 a night in October 2025 with 72% of beds filled, and the show bars run every night. Weekends are busiest. For house music specifically, the top-road clubs are your best bet; the show-bar discos play party and chart hits.

Is it safe coming back late?

Yes, with sensible habits. Most Benidorm crime is theft, and police name nightlife areas as one of the places it happens. Keep phones in front pockets, buy your own drinks and keep them in sight, and take a taxi rather than walking back in the small hours. Stay clear of anyone selling on the street.

What's changed lately. Visitors split: older regulars rarely mention the top-road clubs any more and stay in the show bars, while younger groups still head up the hill. The clubs have shrunk to a couple, but the show-bar scene is as busy as ever, with 202 acts across 57 venues on one October night in 2026.

What the regulars say

  • Start the night together at a show bar; many turn into a disco after the last act.
  • The top-road clubs are a taxi ride, not a walk, from the bars.
  • Check the club's own pages for opening nights and age rules before you set off.
  • Agree a meeting point and a taxi home before the group splits up.
  • Sit away from the front at the comedy shows unless you want to join in.

Your other questions, answered

Most are risqué. Pick a tribute or music act if that's a worry, and don't sit at the front.

2024Are KU and Penélope the only discos left on the top road?

That was a 2024 visitor's understanding. Check each club's own pages for the night you want.

The disco follows the last act, late in the evening; times vary by night. October is busy, weekends most of all.
