What hasn't

Dear Brenda

We listen. Each letter is built from many real comments on the same subject, combined so that nothing identifies anyone.

Dear Brenda, we've been coming for years and this was the first time we felt ripped off. Our cocktail went from €7.50 in June to €10 in September, our favourite pint from €3 to €4.50, and the olives that came free are now a euro. Is Benidorm still good value?

Long-time visitors, on prices

Brenda: Some prices have jumped, and hotels are up 6.7% this year. But a Benidorm package costs less in real terms than it did in 1976 and is still about a week's wages, and the backstreet bars still do €1.50–2.50 pints. It is still good value if you choose where you drink.
