Yes, but it is a long day. The express coach from Benidorm bus station takes about 1 hour 45 minutes each way, and travellers paid about €18.50 in 2023. Organised trips were listed from £36 on 14 Oct 2026; in 2024 one collected at 08:30 and returned about 20:00. Several travellers say Valencia deserves an overnight stay.

Guadalest comes up most, often paired with the Algar waterfalls. That combined trip was the most-reviewed tour on 14 Oct 2026, listed from £29 to £41 depending on the seller. Travellers also rate Altea and Albir by bus, Valencia, Safari Aitana and the jeep safari. Alicante and Calpe are easy on the tram.

Prices vary, so compare. On 14 Oct 2026 the same Guadalest and Algar day trip ranged from £29 to £40 across three booking sites. Many travellers prefer the travel shops in resort, where they can check what is included and trips can move with the weather. Others booked direct with the operator and were just as happy.

All three get good reports. The downhill bike ride cost €39 a head in 2022. On 14 Oct 2026 a full-day off-road tour was listed from £68, a half-day jeep trip to the Algar waterfalls from £46 and buggies from £101 for two. Travellers suggest booking in resort, as these trips depend on the weather.

Take tram line 1. It runs every 30 minutes, takes about 80 minutes to Luceros in the centre and costs €2.90 single (checked Oct 2026). Travellers like the coastal views, and the Mercado and Luceros stops suit the city. The express coach from the bus station is quicker, at about 40 minutes, travellers said in 2021.

Many do, but fewer. Travellers took organised trips in February and a Valencia trip in October, and the bus to Altea and Albir runs all year. Some trips, such as Guadalest coaches in some winters, have paused, and mountain trips depend on the weather. Inland it can be about 10 degrees colder than the coast in January.

Travellers who went rate it highly, especially the VIP trip. Tours have run pick-ups from Benidorm on set days, on Tuesdays and Fridays in 2022. It is up in the mountains, so it can be much colder than the coast in winter.

Yes. Travellers suggest looking up minibus hire in Benidorm, or asking the travel shops in resort to tailor a trip. Taxis charge a €3 supplement from the fifth seat (checked Oct 2026), so big groups often need several cars or a minibus. In 2025 a traveller put a private driver to Guadalest at about €40 each way for four.

Line 30 is the panoramic double-decker. It runs about every 50 minutes, 09:30 to 22:15, from Rincón de Loix along Levante to Poniente and La Cala (checked Oct 2026). It has its own fare, and travellers paid about €11 to €12 for a day in 2025 and 2026. On a budget, line 2 follows a similar route for €2.00.

Day trips from Benidorm average 4.7 across 9,903 GetYourGuide reviews; people love the places but grumble about rushed stops and rep-trip prices.
Late start, but a great day: about 1.5 hours free in Guadalest and 2 hours at Algar, enough for a swim.
£28 each but only about 1h20 in Guadalest, too little for the castle and views. The public bus is cheaper and allows longer.
The castle's opening hours changed without notice, so visit it first.
Local Monday coach at €17 each, last pickup 11am on Avenida Europa. Far cheaper than booking online.
Prompt pickup, off-road in Land Rovers, Algar, then lunch in Guadalest. Felt different from the usual trips.
Bumpy tracks: not one for young children or anyone with a bad back.
The 3-hour tour leaves only one hour of free time at the falls.
A 40-minute guided visit with great lighting and a funny guide. The ticket also covers the Busot music museum.
A 10 to 12 hour day scoring 4.4 from 158. Expect about two hours on the road each way.
The castle is free. The lift costs about €2.70 and is free for over-65s.
