Yes. Travellers describe a sail of about an hour each way, close to the cliffs and past Albir and Altea, with time ashore in Calpe. One traveller paid €27.50 in 2024. Some felt there was not much to do in Calpe in the time ashore. We have not checked a current timetable for this trip.

Travellers mention a diving school at Benidorm harbour that runs try-dive sessions. Spanish travellers like Cala Tío Ximo, a small hidden cove on the Rincón side, for snorkelling from the shore. Parking there is tight.

Families mostly enjoy it. Travellers liked the underwater views near the island, and one family found an underwater viewing trip included in the fare. Others give the island itself mixed reviews. In 2018 travellers reported the island bar had closed, so take water and snacks in case.

Boats leave from Benidorm harbour at the foot of the Old Town. Travellers advise booking in resort, because trips depend on the weather. Island boats run about every 50 minutes from 10:00 (checked Oct 2026).

Some do. The harbour listed the island boat as daily when we checked in October 2026. In 2016 travellers said the Calpe boat ran all year, while water sports did not start before May. Others believe most boats stop in the winter months, and storms can cancel sailings, so ask at the harbour before you plan around one.

Benidorm Island scores 3.7 from 1,534 TripAdvisor reviews; most people enjoy the short crossing and the snorkelling, but sunset cruises and some snorkel trips divide opinion.
A 6 to 10 minute boat ride, then about an hour in the water. Saw fish and a dolphin. About £100 for three people.
The boat was shared with a scuba group. It started 30 minutes late and finished 30 minutes early.
Took the children snorkelling off the island and they loved it.
The crossing was fine, but the island was very hot and the included yellow submarine ride felt cramped.
About 20 minutes across, glass-bottom viewing included. Travel shops in resort sell it at €19 adults, €12 children. Stay on the island as long as you like.
Eleven people for a birthday. The skipper played their playlist, with cava and snorkels. An hour that felt longer; small boat, right for a private group.
The 1h30 trip ran to time, the DJ was good and drinks were fairly priced.
Sunset over Benidorm and the cava were highlights, but the sea was quite choppy.
Good sunset photos. Nothing special, but still felt worth the price paid.
Liked the guide, but time on the island was a bit tight.
