A boat leaves Benidorm harbour at 10:00 and comes back at 18:45. It costs €38 return for adults and €22 for children (checked Oct 2026). Spanish travellers point out the crossing is shortest from Santa Pola, further south. You can also take the tram to Alicante and catch a boat from there.

Most travellers call it a good day out, with lunch on the island. Some found the island small with not much to do, and there is little shade in high summer. A few Spanish travellers would rather spend the day in Altea or Guadalest.

Take cash to be safe. In 2016 a traveller found the ticket kiosk at Benidorm harbour did not take cards. Things may have changed, but cash is still common at small kiosks in Spain.
