There is, line 16, but it only runs on some days. In February 2022 travellers found it ran on Thursdays only, and on 15 Oct 2026 the timetable showed little or no service. Travellers paid €8 return in 2024. Check the timetable on alicante.avanzagrupo.com before you go.

Travellers say yes. It is a small mountain village, a world away from Benidorm, with big views, a turquoise reservoir and several small museums. It is hilly, so it is harder going with limited mobility. Xorta is a popular lunch stop on the trip.

An organised coach trip, say most travellers. On 14 Oct 2026 Guadalest tours were listed from £29 when combined with the Algar waterfalls, and from £36 with Altea. Tours also pick up in Altea and Albir. A traveller paid about €15 for a Guadalest-only coach in 2023.

Yes, the village is open all year, but getting there is harder. Travellers found organised trips paused in some winters and the line 16 bus running on few days. It can be very cold up in the mountains. Hire a car if you can.

Not easily. Travellers have never seen a taxi rank there, and Benidorm taxis do not usually pick up outside Benidorm. Arrange the return with the driver who takes you, or book a tour. Travellers put the one-way fare at about €30 to €35 in 2024, for a drive of about 35 minutes.

Yes. A traveller in 2025 was quoted about €40 each way for four people. Some local tour firms will tailor a private minibus trip for a group. A private driver also solves the problem of getting back.

Guadalest Valley gets 4.6 from 2,589 TripAdvisor reviews; the village and views are loved, the coach crowds and short tour stops are not.
Reviewers single out the views and the turquoise reservoir below the village.
Worth a few hours, with plenty of small restaurants and shops, but it gets busy.
The road is winding but wide enough. The real problem is coach crowds, so drive up and arrive early.
£28 each but only about 1h20 in the village. The castle costs €4, card only. The public bus gives more time.
One bus a day: about 10:10 from the Old Town, an hour each way, back by 1:30pm. €7.50 return, roughly two hours there.
The castle's opening hours changed without notice, so go there first.
Small-group tour pairing Guadalest with the Valor chocolate museum scores 4.9 from 17, at £68.
Sit on the same side both ways to see everything. The reservoir is hard to see from the coach.
Seen as a lovely, real-Spain mountain village, and the pick if you only have time for one.
