Is Benidorm nightlife still busy out of season?
Dear Brenda
A few of us are coming for a long weekend at the end of November. We like it busy, but not packed in like sardines. Will the bars and acts still be on, or will half of it be shut? A friend reckons Benidorm is all over-fifties now: is there a younger crowd anywhere? And what time does it get going?
Yes, come: on the last weekend of November most of the show bars are still on, a few cabaret bars shut until Christmas week, and Friday and Saturday nights still fill up without the summer crush. Stick to the two busy patches, Calle Gerona and the Square, and Rincón de Loix at the far end of Levante; that's where the acts are close together. Your friend is half right: out of season the crowd is older, especially midweek, but at weekends you'll find mixed ages around Calle Gerona, and the big twenties crowds come from May to September. It starts earlier than at home: acts begin in the afternoon, the busiest stretch is from about 20:00, and the late bars keep going until about 05:00.
Who the regulars recommend
- Morgan Tavern, Calle GeronaThe bar regulars name most for acts, and still open in early December when others had shut in 2023. Live acts were on our listings on 15 Oct 2026.
- Western Saloon, Calle GeronaNamed among the places still open at the start of December, with tribute acts from the afternoon on our 15 Oct 2026 listings.
- Cafe Benidorm, Rincón de LoixA regular name for tribute nights; a Michael Jackson tribute was on our listings for 15 Oct 2026.
- Riviera LoungeNamed by visitors as one of the cabaret bars that stays open in early December. Check it's still open before you plan a night around it.
- Rock and Roll House, Rincón de LoixVisitors rate it as an excellent bar, about a five-minute taxi from most hotels; it had a Status Quo tribute on 15 Oct 2026.
- Benidorm PalaceFor one big sit-down night: TRIVIUM runs Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, from €40.
Watch out for
- A few cabaret bars close from mid-November to Christmas week: check the board or our listings before you plan a night around one act.
- Midweek in late November can be quiet; save your big night for Friday or Saturday.
- Drinks are poured stronger than at home; keep yours in sight and buy your own.
- Don't buy anything offered to you in the street late at night.
- Carry photo ID if anyone in the group looks young; clubs do check.
Will the bars and acts be on in late November?
Most of them, yes. Since 2023 the pattern has been the same: a few cabaret bars close from mid-November until Christmas week, the rest carry on, and the main areas fill up at weekends. In November 2025 Benidorm hotels were 63% full, so the town is far from empty. Read the boards outside each bar: they list tonight's acts and times.
Where is the nightlife?
Two areas do most of the work: Calle Gerona with the Square, and Rincón de Loix. Both sit at the Rincón end of Levante, a 25 to 30 minute walk from the Old Town. The Old Town is different: tapas and wine bars first, then a few late bars. Stay within walking distance of Calle Gerona if nights out are the point, so getting home is easy.
Is it all older people?
No, but out of season it leans older. Visitors say you'll see plenty of 25-to-50-year-olds from Thursday to Sunday in late spring and summer, and mid-May is busy with stag and hen groups. In late November, midweek is quiet and older; Friday and Saturday are livelier and more mixed. The acts lean towards tributes, singalongs and comedy, so pick bars by tonight's board, not by the name.
What time does it get going?
Earlier than you'd think. Our listings show acts from midday in the beach and show bars, a busy stretch from about 20:00, and visitors say bars stay busy until five in the morning. Most bar shows are free to get in, so you can move on if one isn't for you. For a sit-down night, the Benidorm Palace show is €40, or €60 to €110 with dinner, on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Will they ask for ID?
At club doors, yes, sometimes. Visitors in 2024 found door staff asked for ID, so carry a photo card if you look young. Drinks in Spain are often stronger than at home, the UK government's Spain advice says, so pace yourselves, keep your drinks in sight and save a taxi number for the walk home.

Your other questions, answered
2026Is Benidorm mostly over-fifties, or is there a party crowd?
It draws a lot of older visitors, but from Thursday to Sunday in late spring and summer you'll see plenty of 25-to-50s. Out of season, go at a weekend for the younger mix.
2025Is the nightlife lively at the end of October?
Yes. On Thursday 15 October 2026 our listings had 202 acts across 57 venues, and half-term weeks are busier still.
2025Is Benidorm nightlife strict?
Not strict, but club doors do ask for ID and police patrol the main bar areas. Carry ID, keep it friendly and you'll be fine.
2024Can two 17-year-olds get into the clubs?
Don't count on it: door staff ask for ID, and in Spain you must be 18 to buy alcohol. Early-evening show bars with tribute acts are the better bet.
2024Lads' holiday in mid-May: will it be busy?
Yes, mid-May is busy with stag and hen groups, especially around the two bank holiday weekends. The weather has usually settled by then, though a rainy day or two is normal.
2023Long weekend in early December: what's the nightlife like?
A bit sparse, with a few cabaret bars shut until Christmas week, but the area around Calle Gerona and Rincón de Loix still has good acts and fills up at weekends.
2023June, Monday to Thursday: busy but not mental?
That's exactly what you'll get: plenty on, without the weekend crush. June weekends are livelier.
