Where can I get a good full English breakfast in Benidorm?

Dear Brenda

We're in apartments in Rincón de Loix at the end of May, and my husband won't start the day without a proper cooked breakfast: bacon, sausage, beans, the lot. Should we pay the apartment's £4 a day for breakfast, or walk out to a bar? Where's the best fry-up near us? And is there a nice breakfast café near the Old Town for a change?

In Rincón de Loix, skip the £4 add-on unless the apartment confirms it's a hot cooked buffet, and walk to a bar: a bar fry-up costs about the same, comes hot and cooked to order, and there's one within a few minutes of almost every apartment block. Near you, the name visitors give most is The Drop Inn, and the Garrison Bar and the Penny Farthing get good words too (check they still do breakfast before you go). For a change near the Old Town, Bar Refuel on the edge of Poniente beach is the favourite for a nicer setting, and Heneriks Pub, down a side alley off the seafront, does a great one. Budget about €5 a head: €3.50 to €4 was the going rate in 2023, and visitors put a small breakfast at about €5 in 2025.

Who the regulars recommend

  • The Drop Inn (Rincón de Loix)Named for breakfast more than anywhere else in Rincón.
  • Garrison Bar (Rincón de Loix)Called superb in 2024, two minutes from the Primavera Loix apartments; check it's still open.
  • Bar Refuel (edge of Poniente beach)The pick for a nicer setting near the Old Town, with a friendly owner.
  • Heneriks Pub (seafront, near the Ale Shop)A great breakfast down a side alley off the front, praised in 2025.
  • Go Bananas (Old Town)Friendly little place with decent food near the Royal and Victoria hotels (2025).
  • Florida BakeryA 2026 favourite for a takeaway breakfast.

Watch out for

  • A cheap breakfast add-on may be continental only; ask whether it's hot food before you pay.
  • Bars near the outdoor market fill up on market mornings; go early or pick one a street away.
  • At busy big-hotel buffets the cooked section can mean a queue; get down early.
  • Old €1 and €2 breakfast prices are long gone; budget about €5.
What we've learned

Is the apartment breakfast add-on worth it?

Only if it's a hot buffet. Ask the apartment in writing whether £4 buys a cooked breakfast or just toast, jam and coffee. Visitors say for that money the café or bar next door will usually do a small full English at a similar price. A buffet's one advantage is that you can go back for more.

Where's the best full English in Rincón de Loix?

The Drop Inn is the name visitors give most for a Rincón fry-up. The Garrison Bar is about two minutes from the Primavera Loix apartments and was called superb in 2024, and the Penny Farthing is popular too, though it gets busy on market days. Say which apartments you're in when you ask locally: the best breakfast is often the one nearest your door.

Where's nice for breakfast near the Old Town?

Bar Refuel, on the edge of Poniente beach, is the one visitors pick for a nicer setting and a friendly owner, and a 2025 visitor had a freshly cooked breakfast at Fresh Urban Gastrobar a few doors along. Along the seafront, Heneriks Pub, down a side alley near the Ale Shop, does a great breakfast. If you're staying near the Royal or Victoria hotels in the Old Town, Go Bananas is a friendly little place.

What does a fry-up cost now?

Allow about €5. In 2023 visitors paid €3.50 to €4 for a large cooked breakfast, and in 2025 they put a small one at about €5. The €1 and €2 breakfasts in older reports are history, and many of those reports carry no date, so don't plan around them.

Can I get a takeaway breakfast?

Yes. Bakeries and bars near most hotels do a breakfast roll or baguette to take to the beach. A 2026 visitor swore by the Florida Bakery. Vegetarian cooked breakfasts come up less often, so ask before you order.

What's changed lately. Visitors split between hotel buffets (eat as much as you like) and bar fry-ups (bigger, hotter, cooked to order), and most now back the bar. Prices have crept up: about €3.50–€4 in 2023 and about €5 for a small one in 2025.

What the regulars say

  • Say where you're staying when you ask; there's a fry-up near almost every New Town hotel.
  • Go early on outdoor market days; nearby bars fill up fast.
  • Check whether a cheap breakfast add-on is hot food or just toast.
  • Try a seafront bar at the Old Town end for breakfast with a view.
