Booking as a visitor

Council courts (Palau d'Esports and Guillermo Amor) are booked through Benidorm council's online system at deportesbenidorm.deporsite.net. You must create an account before you can book. The council publishes a step-by-step guide and its booking conditions on its sports page. If the online system defeats you, ring the Palau court line (96 681 54 72) or call in at the padel office at the Palau. Finca Guila uses Playtomic, the padel app used across Spain. Download it before you travel, search "Finca Guila" and you'll see live prices and free slots. Playtomic also lets you join "open matches" if you're short of a fourth player — useful if you're travelling as a couple. IQL takes bookings on its own website and runs an academy with lessons for beginners, intermediate and competitive players, plus internal leagues. Villaitana padel is open to non-guests via Padel Point.

Lessons, clinics and kids

Most clubs offer one-to-one lessons and small-group sessions. Finca Guila runs programmes for adults, teenagers and children; IQL has a tennis and padel academy; Padel School 04 specialises in padel coaching and clinics for all ages; Villaitana can set up group clinics with accommodation. If you've never played padel, book a one-hour lesson first: the walls and the underarm serve take 20 minutes to click, then it's addictive. Racket hire is usually available at the desk; ask when you book.

Padel or tennis?

Padel is easier for mixed-ability groups and older players: the court is smaller, the ball is slower off the walls, and doubles is standard. Evening slots go quickly. Tennis courts are easier to get at short notice, and clay courts at CH2, IQL and Finca Guila are kind on knees. In summer, play before 11:00 or after 19:00; courts in full sun get very hot.

Watch out for

  • Council courts need an online account before you can book; set it up before your trip.
  • Padel evenings (18:00–22:00) are busy from September to June; book two days ahead.
  • Not all clubs rent rackets; check when you book.
  • Prices on Playtomic change by time of day; off-peak mornings are usually cheaper.
  • Summer midday play is uncomfortable and risky in the heat.
