Brenda's Benidorm MCP server

An open, read-only address that ChatGPT, Claude and other AI apps can use to look things up on benidorm.co.uk: hotel prices, airport transfers, boat trips, buses and trams, what's on, and Brenda's letters. Every answer comes back with the page address and the date we checked it.

Status, 24 Oct 2026. Brenda is not in ChatGPT's plugin directory yet. We have not submitted it for review, so you can't find it by searching ChatGPT's directory today. You can still use it: in ChatGPT through Developer mode (paid plans), in Claude as a custom connector, and in any other app that supports remote MCP servers. The address below is live and needs no sign-in.

The address

Streamable HTTP, JSON-RPC over POST. No sign-in, no API key. Free to use. All nine tools are read-only: they can't book, pay for or change anything.

What it is

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the standard way for an AI app to call outside tools. Instead of guessing from whatever it read last year, the assistant can ask benidorm.co.uk directly and quote the answer, the page it came from and the date we checked it. It reads the same data as the pages on this site. It adds nothing that isn't already public here.

The tools that read a page (transfers, boat trips, buses and trams, what's on) update when that page does. Each reply includes url and checked_on. Prices are typical figures from our own checks, not quotes.

Add it in two minutes

ChatGPT

Paid plans (Plus, Pro, Business). Not in the plugin directory yet, so it goes in through Developer mode.

Go to Settings → Plugins (it used to be called Apps), open Advanced settings and turn on Developer mode.
Back in Plugins, click Add, then Create MCP App.
Name it Brenda (Benidorm), paste the address above and set authentication to None. Click Create.
In a new chat, pick Brenda from the tools menu (under Developer mode) and ask away.

Claude

Any plan, including free (free accounts get one custom connector).

Open Claude on the web, the desktop app or your phone, and go to Customize → Connectors.
Click + Add, then Add custom connector.
Name it Brenda (Benidorm) and paste the address above. Click Continue.
Under Authentication choose No sign in, then click Add.
In a new chat, switch Brenda on in the connectors menu and ask away.

Other MCP apps (Cursor, VS Code, Claude Code, your own agent)

Any client that supports remote Streamable HTTP servers with no authentication. Add a server with this address. Most take a config like this:

Where the data comes from, and how fresh it is

Airport transfers (ALSA bus, shuttles, private cars): fares checked 14 Oct 2026.
Boat trips: “from” prices checked 14 Oct 2026, plus the official harbour prices.
Buses and trams: timetables checked 15 Oct 2026 for a weekday.
What's on: listings as acts and venues share them, last updated 23 Oct 2026.
Hotel prices: medians from our own price checks, last run 16 Oct 2026.
Brenda's letters: answers drawn from the questions UK visitors ask most, each with dated facts.

The date in each answer is the date on the page it came from, not today's date. Methods: editorial policy and how Brenda works.

What it can't do yet

Transfers cover Alicante airport and Benidorm only. Ask about another airport or route and it says so and points to the page.
Boat trips don't check availability for your date. You get “from” prices; the seller's page shows what's free on the day.
Events stop at 12 November 2026. After that, get_events returns no listings.
Buses and trams are weekday timetables. Weekends, holidays and summer can differ.
No booking and no payment. Links go to the sellers' own sites.
It can be wrong or out of date. Check times, prices and opening hours with the operator before you pay.

Privacy, links and who runs it

No sign-in, and we don't ask for your name, email or payment details. The tools only receive what the assistant sends them (a date, a group size, a search phrase) and use it to answer that request.
Our host keeps standard short-lived server logs (IP address, time, address requested). We don't use them to profile anyone.
